Bangladesh Society for the Change and Advocacy Nexus (B-SCAN) is a voluntary organization run by women with disabilities. It works towards promoting inclusive education, accessible transport, and universal accessibility for persons with disabilities. B-SCAN also advocates with government and non-government organizations to establish the rights of citizens with disabilities.
Some of the mentionable accomplishments of B-SCAN include ensuring accessibility through advocacy in Dhaka North City Corporation and Dhaka South City Corporation, the Department of Women Affairs, the National Museum, and the University of Dhaka areas. In addition to these efforts, B-SCAN also works to economically empower persons with disabilities, especially women, and help them establish themselves in society with dignity. The organization does this by conducting various activities, including internships for employment, entrepreneurship training, and interest-free loans.
B-SCAN is a founding member of the National Network of Persons with Disabilities Protibondhi Nagorik Shongothoner Parishad (PNSP). It was founded in 2009 and registered with Joint Stock and Firms in 2014.
